What Nova Scotia’s community solar pipeline tells us
The interconnection queue offers a view of potential development, with important distinctions between proposed and approved projects.

A couple of weeks ago, I shared an update on the Nova Scotia Community Solar Program, including projects that are already operational or approved for development. We now have a more complete picture of what’s coming next. Nova Scotia Power has released its full interconnection queue as part of its 2025 Interconnection Processes Report, providing new visibility into new Community Solar projects currently in development across the province.
In total, there are 24 community solar projects in the queue, representing approximately 117 MW of capacity.
Not all of these projects will ultimately be built, and each still requires Ministerial approval under the Community Solar Program. Even so, this represents a strong and growing development pipeline for community solar in Nova Scotia.
