Public support for solar in Atlantic Canada

The original post highlighted an Atlantic Economic Panel survey showing strong support for solar energy development among Atlantic Canadians. In the accompanying graphic, solar receives 86% support, ahead of the other clean-energy sources displayed.
The graphic also reports support of 73% for onshore wind, 72% for offshore wind, 71% for hydro and 67% for tidal energy. Those results describe the survey cited at the time of the post.
Translate support into practical opportunities
Broad support can create a favourable setting for community and customer-owned energy. Project delivery still requires suitable sites, financing, grid connections and clear arrangements for who pays and who benefits.
The graphic does not provide the survey’s field dates, sample size or full question wording. Its results should therefore be attributed to the survey rather than presented as a timeless measure of every community’s preferences.
Public engagement remains important for individual projects, even when the technology enjoys strong regional support.
